The purpose of this MEDITATION GROUP IS TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER IN
DEVELOPING (and continuing!) our own MINDFULNESS MEDITATION PRACTICES
AND, in a more general sense, to actively build community, one of the
core features of Sunday Assembly, in the northwest OTP area.We will
have a 30-minute mindfulness meditation session, starting around 7:45,
bookended by the opportunity for each person to share how they are
doing and what they are bringing into and out of their meditation
experience.
The apartment is on the second floor. You will need a gate access code
to enter the apartment complex. Message Bill S. (the host) for the
code prior to arriving. The apartment building is 1300 and the
apartment number is 22. There is a cat at the apartment.

While there are many (too many?!) resources for those who are new to
mindfulness meditation, here are a few that folks in our group have
noted as having been helpful to them:
Two-minute Happify video (https://www.youtube.com/watchv=rqoxYKtEWEc
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqoxYKtEWEc])
Sam Harris' book, "Waking Up" especially chapter one
(http://www.samharris.org/podcast/item/chapter-one
[http://www.samharris.org/podcast/item/chapter-one]) (provided both as
text and as audio)
David Nichtern MEDITATION INSTRUCTION (http://youtu.be/yMz_UagXkFk

If you're concerned about not being able to meditate for 30 minutes,
please don't let that stop you! You can meditate as much or as little
as you want during the 30 minutes and then just quietly daydream until
time is up and we'll never be the wiser. :)
