Annually in October, the Open House offers visits to more than 300 sites, guided tours, talks, performances, and special events. Some of the past sites included the Museum of Chinese in America, the Islamic Cultural Center, Gowanus Canal Sponge Park, Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island, and the Staten Island's Conference House as well as tours to neighbourhoods such as Lower Manhattan.
