IWL 2019 Gala: Building a New Benchmark

We invite you to join us at the Boise Centre East for a celebratory evening on March 13, 2019. The Idaho Women Lawyers biennial Gala highlights and celebrates remarkable individuals and entities who are dedicated to advancing diversity in the legal profession and are making a difference in Idaho.  The theme of this year’s gala, Building a New Benchmark, reflects the importance of keeping equality in the legal profession at the forefront of the conversation. We have a great night planned for you; festivities begin with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner featuring distinguished keynote speaker, the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder, Senior Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Dinner will be followed by our award presentations, where we applaud peer nominated winners: Kate Feltham Award - Laura Burri  Rising Stars - Monica Gray & Jennifer Jensen Innovator Award - Attorneys for Civic Education Notable Achievement Award - Susan Clark Bertha Stull Green Award - Ilana Rubel Setting the Bar Award - Kindra Hansen We look forward to seeing you there.  Judge Schroeder has served on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit since 1979 and served as Chief Judge from 2000 to 2007. She was the first woman to serve on the Arizona Court of Appeals and the first woman from Arizona to be appointed to the Ninth Circuit. Judge Schroeder also authored the first Arizona law barring employment discrimination on the basis of sex. Judge Schroeder is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and is the recipient of the Arizona State Bar Association’s James A. Walsh Outstanding Jurist Award, the American Bar Association’s Margaret Brent Award, and the Joan Dempsey Klein NAWJ Honoree of the Year Award. Our dinner will feature assigned seating. Please ensure that if you have any special seating requests that you list them while purchasing your ticket. While we will do everything we can to accommodate your request, we cannot guarantee all requests will be met.
