Do you want to be part of the herd and share some Snacks for a lunch
treat? Well, part of the raft of PELICANS ANYWAY! We are going to go
KAYAKING WITH PELICANS AND JOIN THE RAFT. If we are lucky we may even
get to see PELICANS USING GLIDE-in-ground effects so bring your optics
and keep your cameras out of the water! This event will take place
between Harrison Slough and Andersen Lake. There are three likely
locations we can put in at depending on where the pelicans are that
morning. There is a small chance we may have to visit one of the other
lakes in the chain to find Pellies. At this moment I am betting on the
Slough! We will meet at the Coeur d Alene Winco on the South East side
near the burrito shop at seven forty five in the a.m. We will start
near the end of the Harrison Slough and motor until we find a herd of
pelicans and put in at the nearest access. Bring a kayak, required
support gear(PFD, whistle, N. Idaho rapid weather change gear, and
invasive critter stickers), and lunch treats! I believe we should be
back to Cd A by two-ish. There is the chance we could have way too
much fun and hang with the raft a little longer but we will have to
evaluate the crews feelings and other obligations at the time.
Don t let ice build up on your paddles over winter and a little wax
always makes your kayak glide a little better in the January phase of
water!
I wish all a delightful rest of winter!
