DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS, WE HAVE AGAIN RESCHEDULED TO A LATER DATE.
WHAT IS THIS?
This unique experience offers middle school and high school aged
wrestlers a chance to spend a day challenging themselves athletically
and mentally. It is not a tournament nor competition; rather, it is a
leadership development experience that happens to incorporate
wrestling as a means to connect service-oriented veterans and
first-responders to young, developing athletes. Part sweat-fest and
part lecture, we guarantee our speakers and coaches will leave an
impact on the participants.
WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?
Aaron Butler was a 4-time High School Wrestling State Champion in Utah
who later became an US Army Special Forces soldier (Green Beret) and
ultimately sacrificed his life for the Nation while fighting ISIS-K
terrorists in Afghanistan, 2017.
Aaron's legacy of tenacious leadership and exceptional character lives
on. The Idaho-based Aaron Butler Memorial Foundation (ABMF) seeks to
empower young athletes by exposing them to powerful messages of
leadership, character, and service while they are immersed in sport.
The messages are delivered to the young athletes by select military
veterans, combat veterans, first responders, and community members
with inspiring leadership lessons. The ABMF's "Youth Leadership
Development Through Sport" pillar is a commitment to America's youth
which offers opportunity to develop physically while providing
perspective on the importance, meaning, and gravity of service within
one's community.
The ABMF is chartered to conduct emotional and educational events,
while cultivating leadership and character in young athletes.
