Join US for Wild SKILLS JUNIOR SKI PATROL, a day camp at SCHWEITZER
MOUNTAIN RESORT on Sunday, March 1! Young girls will learn mountain
safety and first aid while working with the strong women & men of the
ski PATROL COMMUNITY. This event is intended for intermediate to
expert skiers/snowboarders ages 8 - 17 who identify as female.
This SheJumps' Wild SKILLS event is structured as full day camp
experience, parents/legal guardians drop girls off, they are split
into teams based on their skier ability and then rotate through
different stations. Throughout the day, girls are taught a range of
outdoor SKILLS THAT ARE UTILIZED BY SKI PATROLLERS TO KEEP THE
MOUNTAIN SAFE. Girls will work alongside female PATROLLERS AND
VOLUNTEERS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE MANY FACETS OF MOUNTAIN SAFETY AND
FIRST AID. We will provide 1 to 2 female mentorship engaging all
generations in the sharing of knowledge and understanding. Connecting
experience, energy and love for our natural places with the technical
and survival SKILLS GIRLS NEED TO GET OUT AND ADVENTURE. Schedule for
the Day On the day of the event, you’ll check in at registration in
the Lakeview Lodge beginning at 9:30am, get your Wild SKILLS JUNIOR
SKI PATROL PACKET AND MEET UP WITH YOUR TEAM FOR THE DAY. Teams will
consist of 1 ski PATROLLER, 3 SheJumps volunteers and 8 girls of
similar ski ability. At 10 am we start the day with a all teams
morning meeting covering ski PATROL BASICS, weather and our agenda for
the day. From there teams will break out and proceed to their various
stations throughout the mountain. Stations cover topics including
first aid, mountain safety, toboggan use, snowmobile safety, gear
caches and weather. Along the way there is free skiing, surprises and
games, of course! Lunch is included in the day and all teams will eat
together in a reserved area. After lunch, all teams will proceed to
the Dog Demo where handlers will educate teams about the dog program
and demonstrate a rescue situation. The afternoon will wrap up with
the remainder of station visits and a informal awards ceremony
starting at 3:30 pm. Timeline: 9:30 Registration Opens - Day Lodge,

women’s community. Skier/Boarder Ability Level: This event is
intended for intermediate to expert skiers & snowboarders. As part of
the registration process, you will be asked a variety of questions
about how confident the skier is on particular runs at SCHWEITZER TO
HELP US DETERMINE WHICH TEAM THEY ARE BEST SUITED FOR.
Scholarships: If you are unable to afford the cost of the ticket, you
