PRESENTER: JOYCE MARTER, LCPC, FOUNDER OF URBAN BALANCE COUNSELING CENTERS For many who struggle with a mental illness, self-medicating with drugs and alcohol can be a way to cope with the pain and symptoms they are experiencing. Many develop a substance use disorder alongside another mental health condition, and effective treatment needs to address both components to achieve lasting recovery.  Joyce Marter has been in private practice as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) since 1998, and is passionate about educating on the treatment of dual diagnosis. NAMI Metro Suburban is excited to have this opportunity to offer her expertise and insight to those in our community who live, work, or care for anyone who may be living with a dual diagnosis.  ENROLLMENT IS FREE 1.5 CEUS ARE AVAILABLE!
