So often we are coached to breathe deep, to over-breathe, or to
breathe incorrectly. There are many common misconceptions about breath
and a lack of awareness about how dysfunctional breathing practices
directly lead to injury and chronic physical complaints. This class is
part anatomical awareness, part breathing practice, part coaching on
the most optimal exercises that train core stability and good movement
patterns, whether you’re a climber, lifter, runner, or yogini. If
you struggle with chronic pain or breathlessness during physical
activity, this class is especially for you. Equipment requirements:
Your body. A yoga mat or comfortable floor space for supine and prone
lying down & hands and knees movement. A chair, box, bench, or
physioball. A timer. A tubular object (such as foam roller, water
bottle or dowell). A weighted object such as dumbbell, kettlebell,
milk-jug with a handle, or other objects you can comfortably hold
overhead for a period of time.
