The Lincoln Lodge has created The Stand-Up Seminary a beginners
foundation course that strives to give prospective performers the
confidence and skills they need to begin a career in standup comedy or
just have some fun trying a new experience! The class requires no
previous stand up comedy or writing experience and culminates with a
live performance of the material developed in class. The course is
founded on the comedy principles of the critically acclaimed Lincoln
Lodge, a national leader in cultivating and developing new comedy
talent. The teacher for this class session is Deanna Ortiz The six
weekly 2 hour sessions of this course will focus on: Joke structure.
Development of material. Finding an attitude and persona. Connecting
with an audience. Creating a cohesive set. Class Schedule is as
follows - Tuesday, February 18th at 7pm Tuesday February 25th at 7pm
Tuesday, March 3rd at 7pm Tuesday, March 10th at 7pm Tuesday, March
17th 7pm Graduation showcase - Tuesday, March 24th at at 8:00 p.m.
Location: Class takes place at The Lincoln Lodge (2040 N. Milwaukee)
REFUND Policy: Full refunds are available any time up to 5 days before
the first class commences. Refunds after that time are at the course
administrator's discretion. ROLLOVER Policy: If you are not able to
participate in class after registration and the refund window has
expired you can potentially roll your registration over to the next
course session provided space is available. This is subject to course
administrator's discretion and a $40 administration fee. Please note
there is NO facility to rollover classes once you have attended ANY
classes.
