After developing a neuro-cognitive setback, Daniel Friedman
appropriated skills from his former architecture career to develop a
unique method of suit design. His company, Bindle & Keep, would evolve
to support people of all gender identities and backgrounds whose
individual needs were not being met by conventional tailors.SUITED
follows clients seeking a personalized experience into Daniel’s
minimalist office space, where a holistic approach that considers each
client’s personal narrative helps tailor the perfect outfit. From
Derek’s emotional journey as he prepares for his wedding, to
Everett, a law student in a conservative environment, or Mel, who
simply wants to look good for their 40th birthday party—the need for
well-fitting garments represents deeper meaning around identity,
empowerment, and feeling good. Going deeper than fine fabrics and silk
linings, SUITED takes a modern, evolved look at gender through the
conduit of clothing and elucidates the private and emotional
experience surrounding it.
Please join ADL Chicago for a screening of SUITED, followed by a
discussion with Daniel Friedman that illustrates the cultural shift
creating a new demand—and response—for each person’s right to go
into the world with confidence.
