The CLA CONFAB IS THE PREMIER MONTHLY GATHERING IN CHICAGO TO SHOWCASE
WHAT'S HOT IN LITERACY. As we continue to envision what a 100%
literate Chicago looks like, the CONFAB WILL BRING TOGETHER SPEAKERS
ACROSS OUR MEMBER NETWORK AND THE CITY TO SHARE TOP-level highlights
from their work, connect around shared goals, and work toward
collaborative solutions to the persisting gaps in LITERACY FACING OUR
CITY TODAY. This summer, we'll be exploring the theme of Excellence
in LITERACY EDUCATION with our final CONFAB ON ADMINISTRATORS AS
LITERACY LEADERS defined as engaging in activities related to
building a school culture that promotes and supports LITERACY ACROSS
CONTENT AREAS, such as leading LITERACY INITIATIVES AND PROVIDING
NECESSARY RESOURCES FOR EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION. Join us as we hear
about great programs from member LEADERS UCHICAGO IMPACT, Innovare,
the Danielson Group, and Civitas Education Partners. We'll also
welcome back Dr. Jane Fleming, Director of the Department of LITERACY
AT Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to share an overview of the
department's new five-year vision. We'll spend the last 30 minutes
building on our collaborative work over the last two quarters in
small working group conversations about how we can collectively work
together to impact LITERACY ACROSS CHICAGO. ----- Schedule 8:30 am:
