MARKET-inspired improvisational Chef’s TABLE AT 7 P.m. on Wednesday,
May 11 at OSTERIA LA MADIA, 59 W. Grand Ave., in CHICAGO’s River
North neighborhood. The menu will be determined on that morning, as
Chef Fox will shop at GREEN CITY MARKET TO FIND THE FRESHEST AND MOST
FLAVORFUL INGREDIENTS OF THE SEASON FROM WHICH HE WILL CREATE HIS
MENU.“This is what a Chef’s Table should be,” said Fox. “The
idea is to bring delicious surprises to the guests while stimulating
the culinary creativity of the chef. Improvisation is one of the
hallmarks of a great chef—the ability to create delicious and
memorable food the way jazz musicians come up with a beautiful
improvised arrangement for a song. I will be inspired by the
traditions of Italian cuisine to bring the day’s ingredients to
life, but I won’t rely on any pre-set recipes or menu.”

Osteria La Madia’s menu is designed for sharing, with flavor-packed,
wood-fired pizzas that change seasonally, inventive salads, and savory
pasta dishes. Desserts are all made on premises, in keeping with what
is seasonally available.
In addition to wine, Osteria La Madia offers innovative cocktails,
many of which are made from spirits infused in-house. Service is
attentive, giving guests ample time to savor their food and drink in a
relaxed yet up-tempo atmosphere.
Osteria La Madia is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10:30
p.m.; on Friday from 11 a.m. to midnight; Saturday from 10 a.m. to
midnight; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Brunch is served on
Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A special Happy Hour 5
for $5 menu, featuring five artisan wood-fired pizzettas and a
selection of wines, beer and cocktails, all for $5 each.
Osteria La Madia also has introduced two-for-one pizzas on Mondays and
beginning May 8, half-priced pasta dishes every day after 9 p.m.
