RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYEES!The objective of this training is to provide
an overview of sexual orientation and gender identity concepts and the
legal requirements for employers under the Illinois Human Rights Act.
At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:
* Understand the acronym LGBTQIA+;
* Define and differentiate sexual orientation and gender identity;
* Summarize Illinois law related to sexual orientation and gender
identity;
* Understand and address workplace discrimination;
* Practice ways to become an ally; and
* Identify guidelines to increase awareness and respect in the
workplace.
Employers have a responsibility to maintain a work environment that is
free from discrimination and harassment for all EMPLOYEES. This
training seeks to bridge the gap between myth and fact regarding
issues pertaining to gender identity and sexual orientation in the
workplace. During this workshop, participants will engage in
meaningful dialogue and activities designed to dispel common
misconceptions and increase appreciation for differences around
gender identity and sexual orientation. _(2 hours)_

of Human Rights Institute for Training and Development are accessible

The Institute for Training and Development requires seven (7) business

suspension of future training privileges.
TRAINING MATERIALS: All training materials will be sent via email 3
business days prior to the training schedule, and it must be printed
out and brought to class. Materials will no longer be distributed on

REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION: Please register online as soon as
possible prior to the training session, as classes without a minimum
number of registrants may be cancelled. If for some reason you cannot
attend, please request cancellation at least three (3) business days
prior to the date of training.

NOTE: The Michael A. Bilandic Building is located directly across
LaSalle Street from the Thompson Center at the Northwest corner of
LaSalle and Randolph streets. All visitors to the Bilandic Building
are required to show a valid government-issued picture I.D. and pass
through metal detectors; bags are searched by the Illinois State
Police Protective Service Unit (PSU). A parking validation stamp is
available in the lobby on the first floor.
