Have you ever walked into an audition feeling like your brain was still at the job you just left or on the bus you just got off? Have you ever felt like all your preparation went out the window when you walked in the room, and suddenly felt self-conscious? Have you ever been in the middle of a scene or monologue and felt your attention wandering and that negative voice starting to creep in? Have you ever been about to go on stage and suddently felt like you were totally unprepared and wanted to quit? Have you ever, ever, doubted yourself while performing or auditioning? Me too. When I was an actor in NYC, I was constantly running from place to place and it was a struggle to stay in-the-moment. Until that is, I found MEDITATION. This workshop will give you techniques to help center & ground you, bring you into the present moment, and manifest a positive experience for auditions and performances so that you can feel like you did your absolute best every time. We'll explore techniques based in: *Breathwork *Mindfulness MEDITATIONS *Manifesting MEDITATIONS That you can do anytime, anywhere, eyes open or closed! Need something you can do while you stand at the door waiting for entry? I've got your back. I've used, and coached hundreds of clients through all of these techniques to improve performances in everything from auditioning, to performing both as an actor & musician, major job interviews and other high-pressure situations. We'll be incorporating an element of scene study and monologue work in the class so you can truly experience the difference when you do and don't practice a centering process. *Sides & Monologues will be available but if you have anything you're working on currently or want to bring to the workshop, you're encouraged to! FAQs What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? There is street parking available, and the location is close to the Milwaukee Blue Line stop, as well as the Grand and Halstead Busses. What can I bring into the event? If you have a monologue and/or scene that you'd like to work with, that's great. If not, we will have some provided.
