Fauvely [https://www.fauvelymusic.com/] - is the project of
Chicago-based songwriter Sophie Brochu, who creates deeply personal
dream-pop music. After completing her master’s in fiction writing
and feeling frustrated with the constraints of her craft, Sophie
turned to music for its raw and immediate release. Her debut EP, Watch
Me Overcomplicate This, was recognized for its delicately
introspective songs about self-doubt and longing.
SuperKnova - "In an age where music — and the musicians creating it
— is increasingly insubstantial, SuperKnova, the recent musical
project of multi-instrumentalist Ellie Kim, is like a breath of fresh
air."
— Chicago Tribune
SuperKnova [https://open.spotify.com/artist/7om8BpNIYHtacdW2rDVHuD] is
a Chicago-based transgender musician who creates Queer Pop, a unique
sound that incorporates hip-hop inspired drums, driving synths, and
virtuosic guitar solos. She writes about identity, queerness and the
struggle to be your authentic self.
Engine Summer [https://www.enginesummer.com/]- is a 3-piece band that
does more than groups double their size: Everyone writes, and
everyone’s the lead singer. After meeting in high school shop class
and 7 various DIY bands later, the 3 landed together in late 2016 in
pursuit of an irreverent style of dancey-yet-krauty psych pop & punk.
The rules they ride by are: only make music that excites them; every
show leaves an impression; every song different from the last; no
social media post too social.
Engine Summer have become a regular in Chicago’s indie clubs, and
have also branched out nationally with 2 tours of the East Coast, a
recent trip to Denver, a Daytrotter session, and opening slots for Ra
Ra Riot, Bodega, and Acquaintances. Their most recent album Indiana
was mastered by Dion Lunadon of A Place to Bury Strangers.
