Poetry in America Live, featuring Elisa New & Mark Doty

Celebrate the launch of Season Two of Poetry in America with creator and host Elisa New joined by National Book Award winner Mark Doty. Watch an exclusive screening from the new season, followed by conversation between New and Doty. Poetry in America is a public television series and educational initiative that brings the pleasure of poetry beyond classrooms into living rooms and onto screens of all kinds. Guest interpreters on the program have included Shaquille O’Neal, Nas, Sonia Sanchez, Cynthia Nixon, Herbie Hancock, exonerated prisoners, clergy members, and young campers at a wildlife preserve.

New is the author of four books, including New England Beyond Criticism: In Defense of America’s First Literature, and is the Powell M. Cabot Professor of American Literature at Harvard University. Doty is the author of nine collections of poetry and three memoirs, including the New York Times-bestselling Dog Years.
