Join us Wednesday evenings to explore and discover together! Whether
we’re inside or out, we will be in nature, getting our hands dirty,
and discovering new things about plants, animals and nature. We bring
animal guests once a month – every 3rd Wednesday! Can you find and
identify fake bugs in our dig pit? What about going on an adventure
through the Conservatory to find rare and unusual plants? This is an
evening of imagination and exploration sure to make Wednesday the best
day of the week! Adults and young ones can drop in and let the
learning begin! October-April During the cooler months of the year
we’re inside in the Elizabeth Morse Genius Children’s Garden where
kids can learn about different animals, make observations, become a
chef in our soil kitchen and have an animal encounter! Please note
that an animal guest comes once a month on the 3rd Wednesday of the
month. May-September In the warmer months we’re outside in our Play
and Grow Garden where kids can get a little wild as they climb on our
tinker tree, build a fort, dig in our pebble pool and run around!
Animal visitors will join us once a month, every 3rd Wednesday.
We’ll also be growing our own edible garden with kids’ help,
conducting experiments to better understand nature, and much more!
*Due to staff limitations, we cannot accommodate groups. Kids must be
accompanied by an adult (at least one adult per 5 children). This
program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts
Council Agency.
