Come help SETUP A NEW POP UP FOOD PANTRY TO HELP SERVE THE ROGERS PARK
COMMUNITY. In response to the growing need for food in the ROGERS PARK
COMMUNITY (due to other food pantries closing), Care for Real is
expanding service to that community with a weekly pop-up PANTRY EVERY
TUESDAY, beginning May 19 at the UNITED CHURCH OF ROGERS
PARK.Volunteers are needed to help unload food packages from trucks,
and setup distribution which takes place from noon to 2 PM. Average
weight of bulk food boxes are 20 to 30 pounds for most boxes. If items
are heavier, volunteers work in teams to distribute weight safely.
Volunteers will pack grocery bags from the bulk items and distributed
to families from noon to 2 pm, while maintaining social distancing.
Please help with clean up and break down, recycling after the event.
**** IMPORTANT ******
This is a COVID-!9 response to help the community. All safety
protocols must be followed to ensure everybody s safety. Only sign up
if you can answer NO to all the following questions:
1. Have you experienced any flu or cold like symptoms in the last 14
days?
2. Have you travelled to another city in the last 14 days that has a
high rate of infection (New York, Los Angeles, Italy, Spain etc.)?
3. Have you been in contact with anybody that is tested positive for
COVID-19 in the last 14 days or exhibit COVID-19 symptoms?
4. Have you been tested positive COVID-19, suspect or know you have
the virus in the last 30 days?
5. Do you have a fever over 100 degrees now?
6. Do you have a dry cough now?
7. Do you have any other reasons to think you are sick or may be
infected with COVID-19?

If you answer yes to any of the questions, I respectfully ask you to
stay home and attend to your own care and follow CDC s guidelines for
self quarantine and speak to a doctor to see if you need to get
tested. Your healthy and safety is the highest priority.
If you answer no to all the questions above, then we would love to
have your help, as hundreds of family are in need of food in the
neighborhood.
Masks and gloves will be provided for volunteers during this service
project and all social distancing practices will be followed.

About the organizations:
Care For Real s mission is to help our neighbors in the Edgewater
community by providing food, clothing and counseling services to those
in need. We do this through on-site food distribution, deliveries to
the homebound, a free clothes closet and a case-management program to
help clients connect with other services they may need. Care For Real
has been serving our community in over 50 years.
