Non-members may register for free trial classes. Membership required for monthly participation.**

Calling all recreational lap swimmers! Enjoy this casual, customized and community-based swim setting, as you progress in your individual goals and swim efficiencies. SwimFit is designed for capable swimmers who would like to improve their performance with a focus on technique enhancement, building endurance and lap swim workout structure. Experienced instructor helps hone stroke mechanics and offers tips to improve performance toward individual goals within structured fitness programming. Pre-requisite ability to swim 150 yards continuously with proficient front crawl technique before enrolling in this class.

Outcomes/benefits:

Improve stroke mechanics and endurance across all four competitive strokes
Improve open turns and flip turns
Demonstrate etiquette in lap swimming
Use swim training equipment
Learn the principles of setting up a swim training program
Learn and demonstrate training techniques

Meet SwimFit Coach Mike Trice
After nearly drowning on a family trip at the age of 10, Mike taught himself how to swim and began his journey as a swim rat at Foster Park. He excelled in joining the swim and dive, water polo and lifeguard teams, while notching 20+ years of coaching experience, 3 citywide championships and multiple Olympic-qualifying athletes. Mike possesses a keen ability and passion for technique, muscle memory, and individual goals and growth. Outside of the pool, Mike enjoys music, art, collecting comics, studying martial arts, and secretly cooking like a pro!

McGaw YMCA members only: 1 day per week, $83/month or 2 days per week, $103/month

The first month's fees will be paid at the time of registration and subsequent months will be drafted on the 1st of each following month.
