-- Join us on Monday, July 15 for a JOINT CHICAGO WOMEN IN GREEN &
North Shore Green Women GATHERING, hosted by CHICAGO BOTANIC GARDEN
AND WIGHEAD JENNIFER AMDUR SPITZ AND NSGW'S KIM STONE. We will enjoy
mingling and refreshments just off the Esplanade, a Carillon Concert,
guided tours of the new pollinator exhibit and the vegetable garden.
The event will be indoors if it's raining!
-- Chicago Botanic Garden is offering our groups free parking that
evening, so there is no charge for the event. Tell the guard at the
booth that you are there for the Women in Green Event.
-- Our host Rachel Rosen has secured Conservation Scientist
Krissa Skogen, PhD. to speak at the event and guide the tours of
Bees & Beyond [https://www.chicagobotanic.org/beesandbeyond] “A
Pollinator’s Perspective” in the Regenstein Joutras Gallery.
Horticulturalist Lisa Hilgenberg will conduct tours of the Regenstein
Fruit and Vegetable GARDEN. The CHICAGO BOTANIC GARDEN IS MUCH MORE
THAN A GORGEOUS PLACE, check out their video annual report
[https://www.chicagobotanic.org/annual_report] to learn more.
-- Chicago Women in Green (WIG) and North Shore Green Women create
social events where women working to make the world a greener place
come together and meet face to face to develop personal relationships
and be inspired by each other. Join us for some old school fun,
networking, to see old friends, meet new friends, relax and enjoy
great company. WIG and NSGW Gatherings are hosted by green
organizations and businesses at locations around Chicagoland.
-- Gatherings generally last 1-2 hours, offer all attendees a chance
to share recent accomplishments and upcoming events/meet-ups, and
offer light refreshments. Feel free to bring a full-on picnic dinner
if you desire!
Make Some Plans! Visit our facebook page
[https://www.facebook.com/WomeninGreenChicago/] to meet new friends
and organize yourselves.
-- Light refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring
blankets, chairs, and a full-on picnic dinner if you like.
-- Chicago women may meet on the Metra and travel together by Metra.
Some NSGW have offered to pick up members and drive them.
