Oak Park Preschool Parenting Workshop - Loss Strikes Everyone

Brought to you by First United Church Nursery School and the Collaboration for Early Childhood, this WORKSHOP WILL EXPLORE THE IDEA THAT GRIEF IS NOT JUST ABOUT THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE. The feelings and behaviors of grieving can be similar after other types of loss (miscarriage, divorce, moving, and loss of relationships, including loss of a pet or friend). In adults, grief includes sadness, intense emotional pain, and a variety of behavioral responses. In PRESCHOOLERS, grief often shows up in regressive behaviors, decreased verbalization, and increased anxiety. This WORKSHOP WILL CREATE A TOOLBOX OF GRIEVING TIPS (such as family rituals, PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM RITUALS, meditation practices, and gratitude journaling).
