Seize the day and come see the OPRFHS Winter Musical, Newsies. This
new Disney musical is based on the real-life New York Newsboys Strike
of 1899. The story focuses on Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who
dreams of a life away from the bustle of the big city to be an
artist. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises the price of
papers at the cost of the newsboys, Kelly rallies his fellow newsies
into action. They challenge the establishment, and all of New York
has to recognize the power of the "little people." With the music by
Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman and book by Harvey Fierstein this
production promises to wow audiences!
