***No CLASS ON WEDNESDAY JULY 4*** Blooming Mums MommYOGA classes are
Yoga classes for mommies & their littles. Classes are inherently
chaotic & mimic the bustling active lives of the women who attend
them. This isn't a place to escape mama-dom, it's a place to help us
all stay. So we can smile & say... Nah'mstay a Mommy. This series is
designed as 4 weekly class to be attended in succession. These classes
are intended for anyone who identifies as a mother and their baby from
6 weeks to crawling. (New walkers are welcome, however I believe
"runners" would benefit more from a different class format and content
tailored to their amazing abilities.) Yoga mats are provided. Please
bring a blanket and a toy for baby. It is suggested that both parent
and baby refrain from large and/or heavy meals at least 30 min before
class. Participants are encouraged to arrive early. I will be present
at 1:30 to set intentions for the class, hold space and offer time for
transition. Registration is VERY limited. Please register for EACH
class you plan to attend. Although the series is progressive, due to
the limited space available, classes are registered indivudually. A
"ticket" is the registration. The classes are free. Donations are
encouraged. Please see the details on the "ticket" for more
information. If you register for a class you can no longer attend,
please request a refund so another person may attend. Week 1 After we
arrive in the space we will get comfortable with doing yoga with our
littles. We will focus on seated asanas (postures) and discuss how
yoga is often a part of our lives already in surprising ways and how
seated asanas may be incorporated into our daily lives. We will also
be joined by Tummy Time instructor Kari Cantrell, of Bloomington Birth
and Bodyworks for a short discussion on moving infants in space and
proper posture while caring for our littles. Week 2 After arriving we
will review seated asanas and practice supine (belly) asanas. We wil
continue our discussions about yoga and its effects on our lives, as
well as how to adapt and incorporate them into our daily lives. Week 3
After arriving we will review supine asanas and practice prone (back)
asanas. We will also continue to discuss the logistics of our practice
as well as discuss any previously performed asanas and any possible
needed adaptations. Week 4 After arriving we will review prone asanas
and practice standing asanas and balance asanas. Babywearing
adaptations will be explored. We will discuss babywearing and yoga
including it's benefits and limitations. We we also discuss any other
concepts or asanas that participants would like to revisit. This class
will be offered again on Wednesdays August 1st through August 22nd,
