Indiana University-Bloomington and Indiana University-Purdue
University INDIANAPOLIS are hosting 25 professionals from sub-Saharan
Africa between the ages of 25 and 35 who were selected to participate
in the Mandela Washington Fellowship Program
[https://yali.state.gov/category/washington-fellowship/] which was
created by President Obama to empower young people through academic
coursework, leadership training, and networking. The FELLOWS HAVE
ESTABLISHED RECORDS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT IN PROMOTING INNOVATION AND
POSITIVE CHANGE IN THEIR ORGANIZATIONS, institutions, communities, and
countries. They will spend two weeks in INDIANAPOLIS between July 17th
and July 28th.Through the fellowship, the Fellows will receive an in
depth overview of the topic of civic leadership with a focus on how
business, civil society, and government work together.
This event is to facilitate an opportunity for the IUPUI and
Indianapolis community to meet and interact with, learn from, and
share with the Mandela Washington Fellows
SCHEDULE
5 pm - The Poccadio Moroccan food truck [http://poccadio.com/] will be
on site for attendees to purchase food.
5:30-6:00 pm - Meet and Mingle
6:00-7 pm – Introductions, Remarks, and Personal Stories
7:00-7:30 pm - Q&A, Closing Remarks
PARKING
A limited number of parking spaces at Eskenazki Fine Arts Center have
been reserved for community members who do not have an IUPUI parking
