Join US for a NIGHT OF WITH FRIENDS AND ENJOY AN EVENING OF MINGLING, local eats, and amazing art.We are thrilled to announce Edith VONNEGUT, artist and daughter of Kurt VONNEGUT AND JANE COX, will join US this year. Meet Edie and see her environmental artwork which will be on display at KVML through 2021. Then settle in to watch a special viewing of Robert Weides upcoming documentary Kurt VONNEGUT: Unstuck in Time. Watch the trailer here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0aU77BxdZE&ab_channel=WhyaduckProductions]. EDITH "EDIE" VONNEGUT is the eldest daughter of Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. and Jane Cox. She was born in Schenectady, New York in 1949, and raised in Barnstable, Massachusetts. She works as a painter and has exhibited in galleries across the United States. She wrote and illustrated the book Domestic Goddesses. Ms. Vonnegut has also served as a contributing illustrator to The New York Times, Playboy, and the Franklin Mint. She lives in the barn behind the house she grew up in, along with her husband, John, and has two sons and two grandchildren. DREW DESIMONE is an actor and writer with a PhD in Astrobiology, and the 2021 Chair of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Librarys Good Earth: Vonnegut and the Environment Program. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, Drew was a NASA Fellow at the University of Washington. There he studied the microbiology of deep-sea hydrothermal vents as a proxy for researching the evolution of life on Earth using manned submersibles such as the DSV Alvin. He then spent ten years in c-suites of the Bio Sci and Sports Business industries working in North and South America for companies such as the Seattle Sounders FC and Prozone Sports . Drew continues to be a passionate primary education and animal welfare volunteer who has taught students from elementary school to college, and spayed and neutered thousands of cats and dogs all over North and South America. Drews writing explores mental health, upbringing, and our relationship with the natural world.
