THE MIDWEST'S ORIGINAL, PREMIER "BEGINNERS ONLY" TOURNAMENT.The Two
Rivers Invitational was created to give players, coaches, referees and
spectators an opportunity to learn about the competitive aspect of
Olympic-style Taekwondo. The focus is on education, not so much about
"winning" or "losing". We wanted to give players the opportunity to
experience as much in a tournament setting as we could. We also wanted
to create an atmosphere of learning and participation for new
referees, new coaches, and perhaps most importantly, help educate the
newer spectators of our sport and art.
Our competition is for colored-belt players only -- no black belt
competitors. In addition, in order to be eligible to participate,
competitors can only have been in 4 or less TOURNAMENTS PREVIOUSLY.
This event is _not_ for the experienced player with a box full of
medals.
All sparring competitors will be guaranteed at least two matches. Our
forms competition will be "head to head" and bracketed, in a full
double-elimination format. No more "one and done"!
We take the time to explain to everyone...players, coaches, referees
and spectators...how an event is run, how the competition works, and
how to get the most of the experience.
Is this not the craziest thing you've ever heard of? Well, _WE_ think
it makes a whole lot of sense.
