Join us for this FREE hour-long show on Iowa’s own Jay N. "Ding" DARLING, considered by many to be one of the most influential members of the modern CONSERVATION MOVEMENT IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY.Beginning with his early years in Sioux City, where he became aware of the natural world around him, followed by his work as a Pulitzer Price-winning editorial cartoonist at the Des Moines Register, he reflects upon his remarkable life journey in this one-man show put on by Tom Milligan. This program is part of the “Democracy and the Informed Citizen” Initiative, administered by the Federation of State Humanities Councils. The initiative seeks to deepen the public’s knowledge and appreciation of the vital connections between democracy, the humanities, journalism, and an informed citizenry. We thank The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for their generous support of this initiative and the Pulitzer Prizes for their partnership. If you are a person with a disability who requires special assistance, please call the Coralville Public Library at (319) 248-1850 in advance. Location is the Coralville Public Library Meeting Room A (lower level).
