WHY? With massive shifts in society, the American church has come
upon adaptive challenges. Steinke urges churches to use change and
conflict as opportunities for learning. Living with the promises of
God, the church can imagine and explore ways to be more suitable in a
new context.
WHAT? Rev. Steinke will expand on the content of his new book (same
title) and demonstrate on how to use the book for study with church
leaders. We will look at adaptive challenges facing the church in the
light of emotional systems.
WHO? Rev. Steinke is an author of more than a dozen books. He’s
an internationally respected congregational systems consultant who has
also served as a parish pastor, an educator, and a therapist for
clergy. Drawing on the work of family-systems expert Edwin Friedman,
Peter's accessible books have helped countless congregations
understand their hidden workings and use that understanding to become
healthy and vital.
