The TERRACE HILL Partnership is proud to present four  distinguished speakers who will bring timely programs to  the TERRACE HILL Drawing Room at 2 pm each Saturday in February, followed by tea and tasty tidbits.   Tickets are $10 per program or $25 for a season pass.The speakers are donating their time and  all proceeds will benefit the gardens of Terrace Hill. February 9, 2019, 2 pm Shelley Thompson Shelley Thompson’s mission is to create beautiful objects to be used and enjoyed every day; things that will last and be cherished for a lifetime and beyond; and to make them affordable for people in all walks of life. About five years ago, Shelley was working in the audio visual technology industry in a high stress job.  Her husband, Tom, who studied art in college, bought Shelley a pottery class at the Des Moines Art Center as a Christmas present and a diversion from her job. Shelley knew after the first class that this was her calling. Three years ago, Shelley quit her job and became a potter full-time. She has attended markets and art shows around the state and won a blue ribbon at the first art show she ever entered; her work is now on every continent in the world.
