An Exploration of Black Divinity » Join the Center for Emerging
Visual Artists in the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of
PHILADELPHIA OPEN STUDIO TOURS (POST) this October. PHILADELPHIA OPEN
STUDIO TOURS IS NOW THE LARGEST OPEN STUDIO TOUR IN THE REGION
FEATURING HUNDREDS OF ARTISTS AND COMMUNITY SPACES—workshops,
galleries, etc.—each year. The program spotlights the vitality of
PHILADELPHIA’s visual arts community and underscores the important
contributions artists make to our city’s economic and civic life.
POST is a chance for a behind-the-scenes look into a day in the life
of an artist, as well as a community building initiative designed to
strengthen bonds within the visual artist sector. While fostering
meaningful interaction between artists and the public, the program
promotes a greater awareness and appreciation for the creative minds
that make PHILADELPHIA A VIBRANT PLACE TO LIVE, work, and visit. POST
provides attendees with a rare glimpse at the creative process in an
approachable and easy-to-navigate, self-guided tour. Taking place over
two weekends, each day of the TOURS WILL FEATURE A UNIQUE PORTION OF
THE CITY, allowing the distinct characteristics of each PHILADELPHIA
NEIGHBORHOOD THEIR OWN CHANCE TO SHINE. The program is free and open
to the public from NOON to 6PM each day. Activities include: STUDIO
VISITS, hands-on demonstrations, workshops, artist discussions,
receptions, guided TOURS, and featured exhibitions. No other open
