_Picasso: From Antibes to Louisville_ will bring together
approximately 50 ceramics and works on paper created by Picasso
between 1931 and 1956. These works are part of the collection of the
Musée Picasso in Antibes, France, and have never before been on view
outside of Europe. KMAC Museum is excited to have the opportunity to
bring this exhibition from the shores of the Mediterranean to the
banks of the Ohio.
Ticket holders to _Picasso: From Antibes to Louisville_ will also have
the opportunity to view _Summer Wheat: Heavy Lifting_. Artist Summer
Wheat creates paintings that often signal the modernist figuration of
Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse, but she shifts the art historical
narrative that casts women as mere objects of sensual desire and
transforms them into powerful warriors, healers, explorers, and makers
of their own world.
