JOIN US FOR "JUNIOR SUMMER CODING ACADEMY"  JUNE 17, 2017 -------------------------  LOUISIANA DELTA COMMUNITY COLLEGE (LDCC),   in conjunction with NORTHEAST LOUISIANA YOUTH TECHNICAL CLUB (NELAYTC) and ALLIANCE OF BLACK TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONALS (ABTP) Invites all ladies and gentlemen from ages 6 - 12 to come and experience a wide range of fun-filled, real world explorations that will open their eyes to the world around them.   ------------------------- _CAMP OVERVIEW:_ ------------------------- STEAM concepts are discovered daily as a way of thinking, approaching problems, experimenting, and finding solutions. Our curriculum will provide literacy, social, and self-regulation skills through play, teambuilding, blogging and more. The participants will be exposed to the Raspberry Pi technology which includes learning to program and the power of digital making.   If you feel like you are not technically savvy, do not worry. The program is structured to be both inviting to the beginner and challenging to the experienced.   No prior programming experience is required for this camp and all NELAYTC workshops and camps are geared towards introducing participants to the technological universe and encouraging them to pursue careers as tech creators and entrepreneurs.   ------------------------- _CAMP LOGISTICS:_ ------------------------- This event is intended for BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 6 – 12 (First – 6th Grade). SOUND INTERESTING? The camp will be onSATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2017 atLOUISIANA DELTA COMMUNITY COLLEGE7500 MILLHAVEN RDMONROE, LA 71203. Check in begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.   Registration begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.  and Camp begings at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. daily.   (_There will be some flexibility in the ending time if the participants are close to finishing up their projects and require a little extra time._)   ------------------------- CAMP NOTES: ------------------------- 1. Participants are not required to bring their own electronic devices such as laptops, tablets and smart phones; however, they are certainly free to do so if they desire._ _2.
