In that time she has been appointed State Musician by the Texas Legislature, won several Austin Music Awards, had her songs recorded by numerous musicians, toured over a million miles, received terrestrial, streaming, and satellite radio support, and performed for standing room crowds at venues as varied as house concerts to large international festival stages. Kick Up Your Heels, Shelley King's ninth release on her own Lemonade Records features Grammy award-winning steel guitar goddess Cindy Cashdollar, Grammy-nominated pianist Marcia Ball, and Grammy-winning vocalist Delbert McClinton and topped off with guitar licks and vocals from Carolyn Wonderland. Special guests include appearances by Lumineers bassist Byron Isaacs and, Shelley's favorite vocalists and bringers of Louisiana style soul and grease, subdudes members Tim Cook, Steve Amedee and John Magnie. Rounding out the recording is Shelleys A-team road band: Texas and Austin Hall of Fame bassist Sarah Brown, multi-instrumentalist, guitar and mandolin go-to man, Marvin Dykhuis, keyboard and accordionist Chip Dolan, guitarist Tony Redman and longtime drummer Perry Drake.
