The Pelican Institute for Public Policy will host a Constitutional
Convention Forum on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the Old State Capitol
in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The forum will kick off with lunch
beginning at 11:30 am followed by an afternoon of panel discussions
taking a hard look at the principles and ideas that animate a great
state constitution. We'll bring national and state experts together
to focus on what the ideal executive, legislative, and judicial
branches look like, including the proper balance between state and
local governance. Early bird registration is now open through July
31 at a ticket price of $50/ticket. General registration will begin
August 1 at a cost of $75/ticket. We have limited seating, so please
reserve your spot today! The ticket price includes lunch, entrance
to all panel discussions, and a cocktail reception following the
forum. Additional details regarding the agenda and speakers will
be released over the coming weeks. We hope you'll join us on August
20 to learn more about Louisiana's current constitutional challenges
and more about how a new constitution could help improve Louisiana's
outlook.
