Explore the world of ANIMATION, COMICS, and CARTOONS WITH INSTRUCTOR
MATT TANZI, a practicing animator and artist!The program will explore:
* How can we bring a drawing to life
* How can we use images to tell a story?
* How can we work together to create a project?
* How can a series of images tell a story
* How can we create a character from our imaginations?
* How can stories inspire us?
Participants will:
* Work in small groups or individually to create a small scene of a
larger project
* Understand the role of technology in animation
* Manipulate images and objects to create a new context from source
material
* Create a character and apply text and images to form a narrative
FULL COST: $275.
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: August 9.
DATES/TIMES: Monday August 16 - Friday August 20, 9:00AM-3:00PM.
Drop-off 9-9:30AM, Pick up 3:00 - 3:30PM.
AGES: Our age bracket is a suggested 8+. Some older kids do well with
the younger kids and like to assist the instructor with the younger
kids. Some younger kids might need to wait a year. We usually address
the lower end on a case-by-case basis.
SLIDING SCALE is available. All of our youth programs operate on a
flexible fee policy called a Sliding Scale so any child can

INSTRUCTOR: Matt Tanzi, a practicing animator and art educator. Though
he began his career as a painter and illustrator, Matt (eventually)
found that film and ANIMATION ARE THE BEST WAYS TO BRING THE IDEAS IN
HIS HEAD TO LIFE. Matt earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at
Montserrat College of Art in 2012 and recently earned his Master of
Fine Arts degree at Maine College of Art. Throughout his academic
career, he has put special attention into the study of humor, satire,
education, and how they all correlate. His hobbies include working.
