3/16/2020 UPDATE: Due to Coronavirus we have chosen to postpone this
event, date TBD. Thank you for your interest! Please check back with
us later. What: Dinner, door prizes, and a chance to support Bath's
unique Japanese exchange program. Your ticket includes appetizers and
a three-course meal (soup/salad, entree, and dessert) at the famed
Henry and Marty restaurant in Brunswick. Cash bar available. Why: The
City of Bath's relationship with the City of Tsugaru, Japan stems from
the 1889 shipwreck of the Bath-built Cheseborough off the coast of
Northern Japan. Friendship blossomed between the villagers who were
able to rescue some of her crew, and Bath and Tsugaru later became
sister cities. For the past thirty-one years, our organization has
been fostering this relationship by through an annual student exchange
with Tsugaru. As a nonprofit 501c(3) organization, we rely on the
generous support of the community to fund this important program which
has served to broaden the perspectives of our young people and
introduce them to a culture that is very different from our own. The
profits from this fundraiser will go toward student scholarships and
program activities for students!
