Born and raised in South Africa, and now an RSU 3 resident, Concepta is a fourth-generation South African Indian who grew up immersed in the rich aromas, bold flavors, and cultural traditions of Durban’s iconic cuisine. Her earliest memories are filled with the sound of simmering curry pots, family gatherings centered around food, and the creativity that shaped her family’s heritage. Today, she brings that same warmth, authenticity, and storytelling into every dish she teaches. As the founder of Concepta’s Studio, she has built more than a food brand—it’s a cultural fusion hub where spices, creativity, and community come together. Through her handcrafted spice blends, curated events, and immersive culinary experiences, she introduces people across Maine and beyond to the vibrant world of South African Indian cuisine.
