Starts January 21st in Yarmouth (Tuesdays, from 10am to 1pm for 6
weeks) Students of all levels develop and expand practical skills and
expressive fundamentals. We work from observation, reference
(photographs, sketches, or drawings) in traditional dry materials. We
explore structure, proportion, line quality, composition and how to
use materials and techniques. Demos and one-on-one provide guidance on
how to draw objects, landscape, or portrait in conventional and
personally inventive ways. All skill levels welcome! Supplies:
Strathmore Rough Newsprint pad 18x24 inches, 200 series white cover,
soft and medium Vine and Willow Charcoal sticks, a 2B Charcoal pencil
and kneaded eraser. We will discuss other supply options in class.
Non-members: $195 for 6 weeks, or $40 per
class. Members: $156. Call (207) 847-4060 for drop-in
availability. Instructor bio: Alex Rheault teaches at UNE and is a
local exhibiting artist, curator and writer. She explores objects,
discarded and decayed, the body and anatomy in drawing, painting, book
arts, and writing projects. Click here to view our cancellation
