May Day is one of the most beautiful days in ANNAPOLIS. On May 1, the
doors of homes and businesses in our centuries-old City of Annapolis
[https://www.annapolis.gov/] are adorned with baskets full of
fresh-cut flowers and colorful ribbons.Join in the fun! The Garden
Club of Old Annapolis-Towne is inviting residents and business owners
in the Historic District and parts of Murray Hill to join in the 70th
annual May Day. Baskets, including
a card with the name of the participant, need to be displayed by 10:00
am on May 1 when members of the Garden Club will begin walking around
town to judge the arrangements.
Winners (both residential and business) will be awarded blue ribbons.
They’ll also be invited to a tea held at a local home in downtown
Annapolis.
Children are encouraged to make baskets and are judged in a special
category. Include the child’s name and age on the card attached to
their basket. Pink ribbons will be awarded to the 12 and under age
group.
Don’t miss this once-a-year, rain-or-shine event to see Annapolis in
all of its spring glory. If you start your day early, you’ll catch
the flowers at their best.
