OAK HARBOR Pig Fest August 9 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm PigFest is a foodie event that brings in thousands to sample the best barbecue in the northwest. There are three big events, including two competitions this year. 1 The Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association sanctioned BBQ competition.  Teams from Canada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana will compete in Pork Butt, Pork Ribs, Chicken and Brisket.  They’re competing for a $5000 prize. 2 “THE PIG OUT” is a local BBQ competition with a $2000 prize.  BBQ’ers get your recipes ready, your smokers smoking and your ovens warmed up. 3 And, like it’s been for 11 years, there will be a free barbecue lunch prepared under the watchful eye of Scott Fraser of Fraser’s Gourmet Hideaway!  Line up early because this one is ALWAYS popular!
