Work (World Premiere) BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 9, “Choral” The
season closes with Beethoven’s ode to joy, the Ninth Symphony, which
conveys his message about humankind. Reimagining the Ninth Symphony as
a 21st-century call for unity, justice, and empowerment, Marin Alsop,
the BSO and members of the rich musical community of Baltimore boldly
interpret Beethoven’s ideas in response to today’s world.
