Don’t miss the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland’s inspiring
community fundraiser! Dress as your favorite comic book, cartoon, game
or pop culture character for KidneyCon featuring a costume contest,
t-shirt decorating, prizes and giveaways. Following the 2-mile walk,
enjoy complimentary refreshments, the Home Depot KidsZone with
children’s building projects, face painting, coloring and temporary
tattoos. Adding to the excitement, International Recording Artist
Philadelphia Freeway will serve as Kidney Walk Celebrity Ambassador.
He will give a special Rap performance before showing the world
premiere of FreeWill, a documentary detailing his battle with kidney
disease and giving fans a personal, behind-the-scenes look of his life
and career with glimpses of his fight against his medical issues.
Funds raised through Kidney Walk will directly support NKF-MD’s
patient services, education and research efforts. Participation is
free and $100 is the minimum amount required to earn a Walk t-shirt.
New this year, individuals can honor someone they love and be a
“Kidney Walk Superhero” by making a $150 contribution. Also,
corporate leaders can become Kidney Walk Executive Challenge Champions
by raising $2,000 or more. Serving central and western Maryland, the
Delmarva Peninsula and portions of Virginia and West Virginia, the
National Kidney Foundation of Maryland is the area’s only voluntary
health agency dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract
diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and
families affected by these diseases, and increasing the availability
of all organs for transplantation. For more information, visit
