Join Delegates Joseline Pena-Melnyk and David Fraser-Hidalgo as they lead a discussion on the status of IMMIGRATION LEGISLATION IN MARYLAND. Maryland is one of the most diverse states in the nation, and has a huge immigrant population. Although Maryland enjoys a Democratic super-majority in both houses in the Legislature, legislation supporting immigrants is difficult to pass. Delegates Joseline Pena-Melnyk and David Fraser-Hidalgo have sponsored some very important legislation that would help protect immigrants. In this session, they will lead a discussion of the major pieces of legislation that they would like to see passed, what obstacles immigration legislation faces, and what we can do to support our legislators.
