Description (Age: 15+) What would MUSIC THEATRE BE WITHOUT MUSIC? The
great works of Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Rodgers and
Hammerstein couldn't be enjoyed without the people behind the scenes
who make it happen, one of the most important being the MUSIC
DIRECTOR. In this course, students hone the skills necessary to
succeed as a MUSIC DIRECTOR FROM WORKING WITH ACTORS AND THE CREATIVE
TEAM IN THE REHEARSAL ROOM ALL THE WAY THROUGH CONDUCTING THE PIT ON
OPENING NIGHT. Each session focuses on a style matching the current
show being rehearsed by Levine MUSIC THEATRE. Students have the
opportunity to work with the professional MUSICIANS FROM THE
PRODUCTION AS MUSIC THEATRE PIT PERFORMANCE STUDENTS AND LEVINE MUSIC
THEATRE PERFORMANCE STUDENTS PRESENT A CONCERT OF THEIR WORK AT THE
END OF THE CLASS. Students must have a letter of recommendation from a
Levine Faculty Member, their private instructor, school MUSIC TEACHER,
or MUSICAL THEATRE DIRECTOR. For more information, please contact
