Event ended

Come and bring your singing voice to participate in this sing-along event with the DC Temple Orchestra and DC Temple Choir! Dave Hardin, the director for the Washington DC Temple Visitors’ Center Easter Messiah Sing-along, has directed choirs and orchestras all over the country. He holds a Master of Music degree in Conducting from George Mason University. Marleigh Savage-Mansfield, a choral conductor, is an accomplished musician new to the DC area, currently pursuing her Masters in Choral Conducting. Instrumentalists for this performance include several members of the Washington DC Temple Orchestra, Armed Services Bands, and other local orchestras. Soloists are selected from the Washington DC Temple Choir, and other local choirs in the area. George Frideric Handel composed the Messiah oratorio in 1741, with words taken from the King James Bible by Charles Jennings. Seen globally as a masterpiece of sacred musical literature, it has been performed countless times since the first performance in Dublin, Ireland on 13 April 1742. The piece is broken into 3 parts, comprising the birth, sacrifice, death, resurrection, and glory of Jesus Christ. We hope to see you there!
