yrs experience, in this small group WORKSHOP DESIGNED FOR
BEGINNERS, to get students inspired about the joy of
CALLIGRAPHY.During this 3 hour "no experience required" class, Liz
Roessler of Lettering By Liz teaches the fundamentals of the fine art
of MODERN POINTED PEN CALLIGRAPHY WITH A DIP PEN & acrylic ink. She
focuses the two-hour class on easy-to-understand, interactive
instruction on everything you need to get started. This includes the
proper way to load/hold the pen, ritual of dipping into ink, healthy
ergonomics, warming up with fun drills on basic pen movements, and
then guiding students through a complete alphabet with numbered
strokes, all while circulating & offering 1-on-1 guidance. Students
receive clear recommendations and suggested goals for personal
practice following class, dozens of cool ideas for using their new
calligraphy skills, Q&A throughout, plus on-going follow-up mentoring
is available individually after the WORKSHOP VIA EMAIL/text.
All class materials (pens/nibs/inks) are included in your registration
fee as well as a generous take-home package / starter kit to continue
your practice and enjoyment of calligraphy at home.
Students receive both in-class print-outs & post-class emailed PDF's
of comprehensive practice materials including 5 complete lettering
styles (exemplars of 3 scripts & 2 block/print styles), a collection
of worksheets with common words & seasonal / celebration phrases,
several styles and sizes of blank gridline sheets, and a detailed
supplies list with both local / online sources to purchase additional
materials.
Bring a favorite quote or mantra with you to class and leave with a
piece of ready-to-frame lettering art.
