Interested in dragon boating? Join Boston 1 on the water! No prior experience necessary... we'll teach you everything you need to know.
Paddling on a dragon boat is a great way to stay in shape, meet new people, and enjoy the summer.
We meet at 5:45pm on the grassy patch outside the Congress St Smith & Wollensky. If you miss us, head down the Atlantic Wharf dock facing the Boston Tea Party Ship Museum.
For those new to the sport, the first two training sessions are only $20- Venmo (@boston1dboat), Paypal (boston1.dboat@gmail.com), or cash. Please sign our eWaiver (
What do I need to bring to training?
We provide all equipment (paddle and life vest/pfd). You don’t need to bring anything except for water, sunscreen, some sort of sun protection (e.g. sunglasses, hat, etc.), and a readiness for a great outdoor workout!
What should I wear to training?
We paddle rain or shine, so dress for the weather and be prepared to get wet. Wear comfortable workout clothing (synthetic fibers that dry quickly) and footwear that you don't mind getting wet such as flip flops or sandals. Going bare foot is also an option.
We discourage jeans, anything cotton, regular shoes and socks as they can get soaked.
Is there a place to store personal items during training?
There is a locker in the parking lot of 290 Congress St where you can place your belongings during training. However space is limited, therefore please be considerate and don’t bring too much stuff.
Where can I park?
Channelside Parking at 284 A Street. Enter at 29-41 Necco Street, off Melcher Street.
