The latest entry to the Boston International Film Festival (BostonIFF) is a Linda Yellen-directed suspense drama, One Stupid Thing, with a cast of budding Gen-Z actors exuding rare chemistry. Corey Fogelmanis, Jack Wright, Sky Katz, and Shelby Simmons star as high school friends whose lives are changed after a tragic, deadly accident until they learn the truth about what really happened. Boston-based actor, Jeffrey Ornstein, stars in a supporting role as one of the adults who gets in the thick of the commotion. Nantucket provides the perfect backdrop to the film and is another star that doesn’t disappoint, given its landmarks and scenery as well as its inherent sense of intimacy that is key to the friends’ deep connection.
Yellen, an Emmy and Peabody award-winning director, also co-wrote the script with Michael Leeds, basing it on the book of the same name by Nantucket-based author, Stewart Lewis. Todd Traina of Traina Productions is the lead producer.
