Join the CGO for an interactive session on DIVERSITY PROGRAMS AND THEIR PURPORTED INEFFECTIVENESS. CGO Scholars Evangelina Holvino [http://www.chaosmanagement.com/about-us/evangelina-holvino] and Stacy Blake-Beard [http://www.simmons.edu/Faculty/Stacy-BlakeBeard] will partner to interrogate a Harvard Business Review article –“Why Diversity Programs Fail,” [https://hbr.org/2016/07/why-diversity-programs-fail] written in 2016 by Frank Dobbin and Alexandra Kalev.A historical overview of diversity in the United States will frame the discussion followed by a critical analysis of the so-called failures and successes of diversity efforts. The audience will be asked to contribute to the discussion by examining their own experience with DIVERSITY PROGRAMS. We will conclude by identifying what it might take to move the needle in our efforts towards more equality in organizations given the current national context.  Subsidized parking is available.  Lunch is provided.
