Come spend an afternoon making a difference in the lives of others.
Don’t come empty handed! Please bring a can of food to help stock
our city food pantries, gently used winter clothing to donate or a
children’s book for someone in need.
We need everyone’s helping hands!
Many people. Many needs. Many Helping Hands.

FAQ
Can I bring a group from my company, church, school, sports team, Girl
Scout troop, etc?
Absolutely! Register under Group Registration with the name of the
Group Leader, contact info, the number of people in your group (an
estimate is fine) and your group affiliation (i.e. East End House,
Broad Institute, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Beth El Temple Center,
Girl Scouts, etc). We do not need the names of everyone in the group.
Send all group questions to info@manyhelpinghands365.org.
Whom does our service benefit?
Your helping hands help more than 10,000 children, teens, and adults
in Cambridge and beyond (including Somerville, Boston, and Lowell).
In the past nine years, more than 15,000 volunteers made more than
2,860 fleece scarves and 1,596 blankets for homeless children, teens
and adults; more than 23.809 Valentines for isolated elders, veterans,
troops overseas and homeless parents, 13,615 activity kits for
children waiting in hospital emergency rooms and more than 10,147 bags
of toiletries for homeless teens and adults. We collected and
distributed more than 2,294 grocery bags of food to 15 local food
pantries, 9,251 lbs of winter clothes to shelters and 474f bags of
children's' books to local literacy programs. We reached more than
10,000 vulnerable children, teens, and adults in our communities
through 91 dfferent nonprofits and agencies.
Can we bring kids?
elders?
YES! We've designed the projects to encourage even the littlest hands
to be able to participate. We have had children as young as 2 and
elders 90+ lend their generous hands in service. Children do need to
be accompanied by an adult who can work alongside them.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The best way to come is by MBTA. We're in Central Square on the Red
Line. The #1 Mass Ave bus stops across from City Hall. There are
public parking lots nearby as well.
Where can I contact the organizer with questions?
You can email US at info@manyhelpinghands365.org. We'll be in touch
soon!
Can I make a monetary donation?
Yes! All donations go to help pay for the supplies we use at MLK Day
of Service . You can make a donation in the "Supporter" category on
the Registration page. Thank you for your generosity!
I HAVE IDEAS FOR YOU!
We'd love to hear from you! Email US at info@manyhelpinghands365.org
CAN I HELP BEFORE OR AFTER MLK DAY?
We can always use more helping hands. Some examples of how you can
help (1) help with planning before MLK Day, (2) help with cutting
fleece, putting up posters, delivering collection boxes, (3) help
manage projects on MLK Day, (4) help finish up sewing blankets and
scarves after MLK Day, and (5) help deliver all the wonderful things
that volunteers make and sort on MLK Day.
We also need social media help and graphic design. Email US at
info@manyhelpinghands365.org
IS IT TRUE WE CAN REGISTER TO VOTE AT MLK DAY?
Yes! if you are not registered, we can help you do that! We have a
table and volunteers at City Hall. The best way to serve your
community is to participate in our democracy!
